Job Description Job Description This position is located at Kings Bay, GA/ Woodbine, GA Overview The Mechanical Estimator is responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates for mechanical construction projects, including HVAC, plumbing, piping, and fire protection systems. This role involves analyzing project plans and specifications, evaluating labor and material costs, and coordinating with engineers, vendors, and subcontractors to ensure competitive and precise bids. Key Responsibilities Review and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine project scope and requirements. Prepare detailed cost estimates for materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractor services. Analyze proposals, bids, and other documentation to prepare accurate pricing. Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive pricing. Prepare bid packages, proposals, and cost breakdowns for submission to clients or general contractors. Collaborate with project managers and engineers to refine cost projections and value-engineering options. Participate in pre-bid meetings, site visits, and project reviews. Track historical cost data to improve future estimating accuracy. Ensure compliance with industry standards, codes, and company policies in all estimates. Qualifications Strong understanding of mechanical systems (HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, piping). Excellent analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills. Strong communication and negotiation abilities. Ability to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple bids simultaneously.
