Job Description:
The Mechanical Engineer position requires advanced experience
developing mechanical components and assemblies in a manufacturing
environment. Individual will manage development and execution of
new product development and VAVE projects with limited supervision.
The ability to create production drawings and assembly/packaging
instructions is required. Must be able to quickly develop
competency in broad range of material, manufacturing process and
sub-system technologies. Ability to evaluate and identify product
deficiencies and deploy sustainable corrective measures. Requires
advanced mathematical skills to perform calculations and ability to
think creatively. The Mechanical Engineer II must work closely with
Quality Control, Manufacturing, Materials, Engineering, and Test
departments ensuring verbal and written communications are clear
and understood. The position functions in an office/manufacturing
environment with long periods of sitting and the use of job
specific tooling and software. Responsibilities and Duties: Plan,
conceptualize, and create optimized mechanical designs and assembly
layouts. Utilize engineering calculations and analysis software to
support design work. Create and review technical specifications,
plans and drawings using 3D parametric software. Coordinate
manufacture and build of working prototypes for beta testing.
Develop and coordinate qualification and validation test plans.
Collaborate with multi-disciplinary engineering teams, suppliers,
and contractors. Prepare detailed documentation to track project
development and design activities. Ensure project timeline is met
and project stays within budget. Qualifications/Skills Required:
Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering with design focus 4-10
years of product development experience in individual-contributor
role Firm grasp of engineering concepts, and experience designing
mechanical systems and products. Excellent math skills: ability to
apply advanced mathematical principles and statistics to solve
problems. Exceptional technical, problem-solving skills and
reasoning ability. Proficient in 3D parametric design ---
SolidWorks preferred. Ability to communicate effectively and
clearly. Must be self-motivated and a great team member. Desirable
Knowledge / Skills: Applied Six Sigma (LEAN / DFSS) APQP / FMEA /
DFM / DFMA planning and optimization Practical experience using FEA
/ CFD application software ISO 9001 or ISO/TS 16949 Design
Control
