& development Geodetic Systems, Inc. (GSI) , located in Melbourne,
Fl is a small, high-tech manufacturer looking for a highly capable,
reliable, well-organized, and motivated individual primarily to
solder, assemble, test and troubleshoot circuit boards and other
components for our specialized 3D measurement cameras. Work is
indoors in an air-conditioned environment. The job is a long-term,
year-round position, that is part-time to full-time as described
below. Work is done at our office. Working remotely (online) is not
possible. Hours & Pay Work is usually done during normal work hours
(Monday-Friday from ~8 AM ~6 PM) but in special circumstances,
other hours or weekends may be needed. It can be a part-time (at
least 15-20 hours per week) to a full-time position (30-40 hours
per week) depending on our workload, your desired work hours, and
your ability to take on additional duties. After an initial ~2 to
4-week training session (done during normal work hours), hours can
be more flexible, especially for a part-time position. Pay depends
on candidates qualifications and skill set, and whether the
position is full or part-time ($18-$30 per hour). Basic
Qualifications Must be fluent in English (speaking, reading,
writing). Drug-free (drug test is required by our insurance company
for employment). U.S. citizen required. High-school diploma
required (GED acceptable). Relevant Associate's Degree a plus. Work
or educational experience in the listed skills is required, and
must be demonstrated. General Skills Needed Good familiarity with
Windows, especially with Windows Explorer, Excel, and Word.
Well-organized and highly observant, noting any deviations from
normal. Able to keep the work area clean and organized. The ability
to perform these skills must be demonstrated during the interview.
Specific Skills Needed Able to solder wires and components onto
small circuit boards (Surface mount soldering is a plus and may be
required). Able to build wiring assemblies with and without inline
connectors. Able to test circuit boards, wiring assembles, etc.
(Multi-meter use required, Oscilloscope experience a plus). Able to
assemble circuit boards, wiring harnesses, etc. into cameras and do
basic camera testing and troubleshooting. Able to read and
understand basic assembly and testing documents (ability to read
simple electrical schematics a plus). The ability to perform these
skills must be demonstrated during the interview. Other
requirements GSI is a small, high-tech manufacturing firm. Our
products are world-class and so are our people. In a small firm,
employees must be versatile and flexible, having the attitude and
aptitude to assist as needed (Not my job wont work here). Examples
include: Assisting with shipments so must be able to handle items
up to 30-50 pounds. Assisting with making non-electrical products
as needed (general assembly skills a plus). Assisting with any
other product testing as needed (cameras, etc.). The ability to
occasionally travel as needed to assist in fieldwork is a plus.
